The South Pacific at Sunset was inspired by the Bali prints used for its
construction. The quilting depicts seaweed and various sea creatures such as
sea horses, dolphins, whales, shells, sharks, different coral structures as well as a
lighthouse and a ship. The outer border was chosen to depict sunset on the ocean. Batting
is Hobbs 80/20 cotton. |

the center stars. I quilted the centers using arc quilting. The borders were
done using a freehand feather with parallel lines outlining the feather. Freehand
meandering daisies complemented the design. |
